What where the Strengths and Weaknesses of Elizabeths reign?

Strengths
 - Becoming Queen at 23
 - Unmarried
 - Experienced Councillors
       e.g William Cecil

Weaknesses
 - Pope did not recognise the marriage of her parents.
 - Unmarried
 - Need for continuity in government
 - Female
 - New and politically inexperienced
 - Privy Council required
 - Need for Foreign alliances

    1. She became queen at 25 not 23, and that wasn't on her own accord so it should not be listed as a strength. It was because of the rights of secession.
    2. pope not recognizing the marriage of her parents was actually a strength, because it established the monarch of england as the head of the church of england, they no longer paid as many taxes to the pope and overall it strengthened the monarchy
    3. Unmarried (you have this on both lists....)
    4. Female- not at all a weakness, she did an amazing job as a queen, far better than her father with terrible inferiority complex
    5. privy council always required for all regents

    1. 3 and 4 are valid. both are strengths and weaknesses. unmarried = can have foreign husbands, will strengthen england, however this was a disadvantage because she has no heir, so less popular. female= at the time catholics believed that women should not have more power than a man, so monarchy was only fit for a man due to their military role, as men could only lead military by popular belief at that time.
